The object of this course is to prepare experienced buyers, purchasing agents, and purchasing managers for the Certified Purchasing Professional examination. Knowledge of the content of the course will contribute to success in taking the examination to receive the Certified Purchasing Professional certification. This course will cover the essentials of the purchasing process, and the organization and management of the purchasing function. Portions of the course will cover aspects of accounting and other business functions that purchasing professionals should know in order to receive the Certified Purchasing Professional certification.
 
This course also includes the CPP exam study guide (PDF version), examination, and the self-running courses Business Ethics for Buyers and Sellers, Math for Purchasing and Business, Managing Inventory - Maintaining the Proper Level, and Essential Law for Buyers and Sellers. The certified purchasing professional examination is taken during the last weekend of the course.
 
The different parts of this CPP exam prep course are self-running and online. They can be taken at any time of the day and whenever is convenient to the student. An instructor is available for questions, directions and guidance.
 
Although there are additional requirements involved, the completion of this certified purchasing professional certification course and successful passing of the examination meets the exam and online course requirements for certification. Certification must still be applied for separately and there are separate fees for the processing of the application.
 
The instructor sends students an email with initial instructions for the certified purchasing professional certification course by the Monday date that the course is scheduled to begin. The study guide is emailed to students sometime during the week before the certified purchasing professional certification course begins.

If a student needs to reschedule to a later course date or withdraw from a class after it has begun the following charges apply for the "Preparation for CPP Exam" course: During first week - $200, during second week - $300, during third week - $400. If a student needs to reschedule the Society must be contacted immediately, and the preceding charges will apply. A student may only transfer to a new session one time. Once a student transfers no refunds are given. There are no exceptions for transfer fees or refunds. Study guides are nonrefundable. All students will be emailed a PDF version of the study guide sometime the week before the course begins. If a student needs an extension of time due to an emergency to take the exam the charge to do so will be $300 and an extra two weeks will be allowed. No examination submitted late will be accepted or graded. If a student fails the exam it may be taken again for a $80 setup fee. The student will have two weeks from the official end of the course to pay for and retake the exam. The exam can be taken up to three times. Instructions for the full version are usually sent on the begin date for the certified purchasing professional certification course session.
