Benchmarking Report

The American Purchasing Society conducts research about business purchasing practices. The Society obtains information from monthly and annual benchmarking surveys and has been publishing its annual Research and Procurement Benchmarking Report since 1998.

Topics regarding price benchmarking in procurement that are usually included in the supplier performance evaluation report are price forecasts, late, early, rejected shipments, staffing levels, savings achieved, new suppliers, policies, and more.

Purchasing professionals use the Society’s supplier performance metrics and supplier performance reports to compare their activities to other organizations with the objective to improve their purchasing practices.
